Claims Process – making a claim

If you have a policy issued by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance or our underwriting agents, and have a claim to make, please contact as follows.

Please select the policy you wish to make a claim under ;

MSI policy – lodge your claim

  • Contact your broker

    If you’re insured through a broker, please inform your broker that you need to make a claim. Your broker will guide you through the claims process and liaise with us on your behalf.

    MSI claims are handled by our agent, QBE Australia. Please submit a completed claim form (using one of our standard claim forms provided below) to the following:

    Please download those forms applicable for your incident, then send it back to claims officer

  • Manage your claim

    A dedicated claims officer will manage your claim. In general, claims officers can only make a decision on a claim if all relevant details are submitted. Our claims officer will let you know if further information about your claim is required or not.

    An excess is the amount you have to cover or pay in relation to your claim. Our claims officer will let you know if there are any excesses to pay. Please advise our claims officer if you are experiencing financial hardship.

    Your claim officer will let you know if there are any waiting periods.

Confirmation of Claim Transaction

– Retail claims only –

As part of our claims process, customers receive updates about the progress of their claim. These updates may include information about a claim decision, paying a policy excess and settlement.

Would you like a confirmation of your insurance claim?

If you have lodged a claim with us for a (car, home, boat or travel) policy, you can request a confirmation of your insurance claim (a Confirmation of Claim Transaction) and we will provide it after the claim is finalised. It will confirm basic information about your finalised claim.

How can I request a Confirmation of Claim Transaction?

You can request a Confirmation of Claim Transaction by contacting our Claims Team on 1 800 105 381 or sending email to

3) Policy number,
4) Claim number,
5) Preferable communication – Email or Mail
